Russell Wilson Salutes Kenneth Walker's 173-Yard Explosion in Chiefs Debut
Russell Wilson took to X to praise former Seattle running back Kenneth Walker III after his blockbuster Kansas City debut, writing simply, "Kenneth Walker is special.
K9." Walker rushed 23 times for a career-high 173 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 7.5 yards per carry in Kansas City's 31-10 rout of Denver on Monday Night Football. His signature play was a 60-yard third-quarter touchdown run, and he later added a 2-yard receiving score from Patrick Mahomes.
Though Wilson and Walker never shared a Seattle locker room, both share Super Bowl glory with the franchise. Walker signed a three-year, $43.05 million deal with Kansas City this offseason after leaving Seattle in free agency, and Monday's showing signaled he's ready to be a featured weapon.
