An Emirates flight from Dubai to London Heathrow was diverted to Frankfurt on Thursday, October 1, after a passenger onboard experienced a medical emergency. Flight EK31 landed safely in Frankfurt, where the affected passenger was taken off the aircraft for further medical attention, an Emirates spokesperson confirmed.
"Emirates can confirm that flight EK31 from Dubai to London Heathrow diverted to Frankfurt on 1 October due to a medical emergency involving a passenger onboard," the spokesperson said. Flight-tracking service Flightradar24 reported that EK31 issued a squawk 7700 code — the international signal used by pilots to alert air traffic control of a general emergency — before descending near Frankfurt on Thursday evening.
The airline confirmed its cabin crew assisted the passenger throughout the flight. No further details were immediately available regarding the nature of the medical emergency or the passenger's current condition.
