Noumea Marathon Halted After 25-Year-Old Runner Dies of Cardiac Arrest, Series of Emergencies
🚨 The Nouvelle-Calédonie marathon was interrupted on Sunday in Nouméa after an exceptional series of serious medical emergencies struck participants across the 10km, 21km, and 42km races. A 25-year-old local man, competing in the half-marathon, collapsed just meters from the medical tent moments after crossing the finish line.
Treated "within seconds," he suffered a cardiac arrest and could not be revived despite over 30 minutes of CPR. In total, 8 participants faced serious medical emergencies, with 4 evacuated to hospital. 💔
