No Novichok Trace Found After Belfast Woman's Nerve Agent Scare
A major emergency response was launched in east Belfast's Harper Street after a woman claimed she had come into contact with the nerve agent Novichok, prompting evacuations and a large deployment of police, ambulance, and fire crews.
The Police Service of Northern Ireland confirmed no wider threat to the public was believed to exist. The woman was taken to hospital, and no trace of the deadly Soviet-era nerve agent — previously used in the 2018 Salisbury attack — was ultimately found. The incident, though brief, drew comparisons to that earlier poisoning case.
