Hawaii Rallies After Halftime to Take Control Against New Mexico State, Chasing First Win of 2026
Hawaii pushed ahead of New Mexico State in the second half at Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex, as the winless Rainbow Warriors (0-2) chase their first victory of the season. Entering as 7.5-point favorites, Hawaii struggled offensively early against the Aggies (1-1), who arrived riding momentum behind quarterback Trey Hedden's strong start to the year.
New Mexico State's defense, anchored by safety Nick Session's playmaking in the secondary, kept the Aggies competitive into the break. But Hawaii found its rhythm after halftime, seizing control in front of the home crowd on First Responders Night. The Rainbow Warriors, 11-1 all-time against New Mexico State, look to close out the nonconference matchup and snap their early-season skid.
