Prince Harry and Meghan told NBC News they were "surprised" by a letter sent on behalf of King Charles III confirming they remain nonworking members of the royal family following their return to the UK. The letter, signed by the Lord Chamberlain, confirmed Harry and Meghan cannot use the titles His and Her Royal Highness, a status unchanged since 2020. A palace source disputed claims the couple weren't informed in advance, though they weren't consulted on its contents.
The timing coincides with a security committee review on whether to fund protection for the family now living back in the UK
