Comedy Icon Dawn French Loses Licence Under UK's 12-Point Rule
Beloved comedian and author Dawn French, 68, has been banned from driving after exceeding the 12-point limit on her licence.
French was caught speeding in her Mini Clubman Cooper S Sport at 36mph in a 30mph zone on Mannamead Road, Plymouth, on June 11, 2025.
She did not attend the sentencing hearing at Plymouth Magistrates' Court on September 7, where District Judge Stuart Smith endorsed her licence with three penalty points, pushing her total over the threshold that triggers an automatic ban.
French, whose address was listed in Calstock, Cornwall, admitted the offence and was fined £600 plus costs, alongside a six-month driving disqualification.
