Celtic Stunned! LASK Complete Historic Comeback to Dump Scottish Champions Out of Champions League
Celtic looked destined for the Champions League group stage after leading 4-0 on aggregate midway through the first half in Linz, courtesy of Callum McGregor's early strike. But Nigerian midfielder Moses Usor gave LASK hope just before the break, sparking a stunning capitulation. Goals from Robert Ljubicic, Adeniran, and an injury-time Florian Flecker effort sent the tie into extra-time, before Samuel Adeniran's strike 11 minutes from the end of extra-time completed the stunning comeback, winning it 5-4 on aggregate. LASK reached the Champions League group stage for the first time after beating Celtic 5-1 on the night, while Celtic drop into the Europa League — their second straight year missing out on the tournament's lucrative main stage.
