Netflix's "The Whisper Man" Exposed as Latest Disappointment in Streaming Giant's Horror Slate
Netflix is facing fresh criticism after "The Whisper Man" became the latest addition to what critics call a troubling pattern of underwhelming original horror films.
The movie follows in the footsteps of oddly-named horror villains like the Bye Bye Man, the Tall Man, and the Empty Man, promising chills but delivering little more than a bait-and-switch. Reviewers say the film lures viewers in with familiar, comforting imagery before twisting it into unsettling territory, only to lose momentum entirely.
Rather than delivering genuine scares, "The Whisper Man" reportedly disorients audiences before fizzling out into tedium. The backlash adds to growing concerns that Netflix continues prioritizing quantity over quality in its original horror catalog.
