🚨🎤 Macklemore Removed From Ed Sheeran Tour After ‘Free Palestine’ Remarks
Macklemore has been dropped from the remaining U.S. dates of Ed Sheeran's Loop Tour after several venues told the tour's promoter they would not allow a concert to take place with the rapper on the lineup.
Promoter Messina Touring Group said the situation risked canceling the entire tour and impacting hundreds of thousands of fans, so after discussions with stakeholders, Macklemore will not be performing on the remaining support dates.
The move follows the rapper's onstage "Free Palestine" statements and performance of his protest song "Hind's Hall" during shows at MetLife Stadium earlier this month, which drew a petition from the Israeli-American Council calling for his removal, as well as public support from singer Pink for the same.
Macklemore, a longtime vocal supporter of Palestinians, was set to appear at eight of the tour's ten remaining U.S. shows.
