Lewis Hall Signs New Contract Until 2031, Ending Manchester United's Interest
Newcastle United defender Lewis Hall has signed a new long-term contract that will keep him at St James' Park until 2031, ending Manchester United's pursuit of the left-back over the summer transfer window.
The 22-year-old, who joined from Chelsea on loan in 2023 before making the move permanent in 2024, has made 107 appearances for the Magpies. Sporting director Ross Wilson said retaining Hall was among Newcastle's top priorities this summer, despite strong interest from Manchester United.
Hall called it "a really proud moment," praising new head coach Matthias Jaissle and Newcastle's strong start to the 2026/27 season. Hall has also earned England international recognition since his Newcastle breakthrough.
