Cubs' Bullpen Woes Continue as Webb Falters Again in Milwaukee
The Chicago Cubs' bullpen troubles deepened Tuesday night as closer Jacob Webb blew his third save in six outings, allowing a two-out, two-run homer to Jackson Chourio after Chicago had taken the lead in the ninth.
Caleb Thielbar surrendered the winning run in the 10th on a bases-loaded single from Luis Lara as the Brewers walked off with a 4-3 win. The loss dropped the Cubs a half-game behind the Phillies for the NL's top Wild Card spot.
Webb admitted, "I'm tired of letting the team down." With the postseason approaching, Chicago's bullpen instability is becoming a serious concern.
