 Beneath the Silver Moon

Kaito had always found comfort in the quiet of the night, but tonight felt different.

Standing alone on the rooftop, he tilted his head back and let the moon's glow wash over his face. It hung enormous and luminous against the star-scattered sky, wisps of cloud drifting past like whispers of forgotten dreams.

He had come here to escape the noise of the day — the arguments, the doubts, the weight of decisions he wasn't ready to make. But up here, none of that seemed to matter.

The wind carried a faint chill, brushing through his hair as he exhaled slowly. Somewhere below, the city hummed with distant life, oblivious to the boy standing at its edge, lost in thought beneath the vast expanse above.

He thought of everyone who might be looking at this same moon right now — strangers, friends, people he'd lost touch with. Somehow that thought made the world feel smaller, more connected.

For the first time in weeks, Kaito felt his shoulders relax.

Tomorrow would bring its own struggles, its own questions without easy answers. But tonight, under that silver light, he allowed himself simply to breathe, to exist, to wonder.

The moon didn't judge. It only listened.
