NRL Community United as Jai Arrow Makes Triumphant Return Amid MND Battle
Jai Arrow made a heart-warming return to the field on Saturday, running out for South Sydney to bring up his 99th NRL game, three months after being diagnosed with motor neurone disease.
The forward's emotionally-charged appearance paves the way for him to reach his 100-game milestone next week.
Arrow was given special dispensation by the league to lead the Rabbitohs onto the pitch for the final two regular season games while still mobile enough to walk.
He was welcomed onto Cbus Super Stadium to the strains of "You'll Never Walk Alone," receiving a hero's welcome from both sets of fans.
Since his diagnosis, the rugby league community has rallied behind him, with the NRL-led "Stand With Jai" campaign raising over $1 million for him and his family.
